Torbole, lying close to the mouth of the River Sarca, clings to the calcareous rocks on the extreme north-west slope of Mont Baldo. It is separated form Riva del Garda  by the Monte Brione and  the majestic Monte Rocchetta is right in front of Torbole. The origins of Torbole go back to the prehistoric period, but Torbole enjoyed the most sparkling period during the Roman Empire.
